claimed their first win of the new Championship season thanks to a fine hat-trick from midfielder Conor Hourihane.
The Irishman’s treble helped seal a thrilling 4-2 victory over Norwich City, who rallied in the second-half but just fell short of a possible share of the points.
Villa dominated from the start. Hourihane opened the scoring in the first minute with a neat close-range finish and Andre Green then doubling the hosts’ lead on the stroke of half-time with a fine strike into the top corner.
The Canaries hit back in the second-half with Josh Murphy scoring on the hour-mark, but Hourihane then scored his second just eight minutes later.
