For the second time in two days, a Northwestern basketball team destroyed another Chicago school at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern (8-1) was never really challenged after the second quarter and coasted to a 75-42 win over the Chicago State Cougars (0-8).
Nia Coffey led the team with 14 points in 22 minutes. She also notched yet another double-double, adding to her case for the Wade Award. Fellow senior Ashley Deary picked up 12 points of her own and added 5 assists.
Northwestern got off to a good start, opening a 6-1 lead after two minutes of play.
