Northwestern employs the highest percentage of female coaches in the Big Ten

Almost two-thirds of Northwestern's women's sports are led by female head coaches, good enough for sixth nationally among the seven major conferences, according to Michael Burke at SB Nation's Syracuse site.

With seven female coaches for their 11 women's sports, the Wildcats' 63.6-percent mark is the highest in the Big Ten.

Northwestern is one of eight Big Ten schools that has at least a 50-percent rate of female head coaches leading women's sports. The school is followed closely by Ohio State, Michigan State and Minnesota. Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin come in right at the 50-percent point.
