Entering the 2017 season, the University of Northern Iowa football squad has six alumni suiting up in the National Football League. Included in that list are a pair of draft picks in David Johnson (3rd Round, 86th pick by Arizona in 2015 NFL Draft) and Deiondre' Hall (4th Round, 127th pick by Chicago in 2016 NFL Draft).

David Johnson is entering his third season with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals third-round selection (86th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Northern Iowa, Johnson has played in all 32 games (21 starts) during his first two NFL seasons.
