The University of Northern Iowa is represented by seven members on the 2017 Missouri Valley Football Conference's preseason squad as announced by the league office on Monday.
Senior defensive back Malcolm Washington (Houston, Texas) and senior linebacker Jared Farley (Cedar Falls, Iowa) were each named to the first team heading into the 2017 season.
Washington led the Panthers last season with four interceptions, including a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 42-21 win over Southern Illinois on Oct. 1. Washington registered 28 tackles and six pass breakups in 2016. Washington earned second-team all-MVFC honors at the conclusion of the 2016 campaign.
