Positives getting harder to come by after loss to FCS Western Illinois

DeKALB – Traditional Mid-American Conference doormat Eastern Michigan beat Wyoming on Friday night – a Cowboy team that looked very impressive in a season-opening win against Northern Illinois.

That left one thought rattling in my head even before the Huskies ever took the field against Football Championship Series team Western Illinois on Saturday.

This is going to get worse before it gets better.

Sure enough, the Northern Illinois football team hit rock bottom on Saturday, losing to the Leathernecks, 28-23, to drop to 0-4 this year as MAC play is set to begin.

So we've got a team that had a 35-1 stretch at Huskie Stadium entering late last season that is now riding a three-game home losing streak, including one to an FCS team.
