Sophomore men’s golfer Jordan Less qualified for the 2017 U.S. Amateur in a playoff hole after finishing the tournament three-under par (68-71-139) in the qualifying event at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Illinois.
Less carded six birdies in round one July 11, including four on the first six holes. Less finished with an even-par 71 in round two and tallied five more birdies.
With four players tied at a score of 139 after completion of play, Less and three other players had a playoff to determine who would advance. Less birdied the first playoff hole to claim one of the qualifying spots for the U.
