Tar Heel cornerback Des Lawrence didn’t hear his name called on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, but he will get an opportunity at the next level anyway. The Detroit Lions have brought on Des as an undrafted free agent.
As Banks said in Lawrence’s profile, Lawrence played Defensive Back for his first two years as a Tar Heel, but it was after he switched to Cornerback before his junior year that he really began to shine. He had 43 solo tackled in 2015, and 59 total tackles. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.
