The Wild Card Race: Eastern Conference

The season has finally begun, and the postseason race gets going

Last season, the Wild Card race was unpredictable. In the East, The Panthers and Bruins were fighting the Senators and Penguins for a spot in the postseason. In the West, the Jets beat out the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings. Every season, the Wild Card race brings out the best in unsuspecting sleepers and the worst in struggling favorites. Even though some of the Wild Card teams were favored to go far, only one team got past the first round (The Minnesota Wild) only to be eliminated in the second round.
