The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired center Brian Boyle in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Byron Froese and a second-round draft pick, the team announced Monday.
ESPN's Craig Custance reported there's no salary retained in the deal.
The 32-year-old Boyle is in his 10th year in the league, spending time with the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers before signing with Tampa Bay as a free agent in 2014.
His three seasons with the Lightning didn't always feature high production, but he was a key member of the roster.
