The Buffalo Sabres have hired former Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma as their new head coach, the team announced.
The Sabres have to give up a third-round pick to Pittsburgh as compensation for hiring Bylsma, who was still under contract with the Penguins despite being relieved of his duties a year ago, a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.
