N.F.L. Scores: Colin Kaepernick Throws Touchdown for 49ers

There are nine games at 1 p.m. today, but the early focus is almost entirely on San Francisco-Buffalo, where 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick again knelt during the national anthem.

He faced jeers and chants of “U.S.A.” from some Bills fans. And he actually played football as well.

After five weeks on the bench, Kaepernick got the call from coach Chip Kelly to try to turn around the struggling 49ers (1-4). In windy Buffalo, the Niners received the opening kickoff and turned the offense over to Kaepernick. After two handoffs, a scramble and two first downs, he completed his first pass for 7 yards to Jeremy Kerley.
