Ryan Mallett was working with the Houston Texans' third-string offense on Friday, one day after the quarterback reportedly slept through practice. The embarrassing demotion is only temporary.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien wasn't feeling too chatty about Mallett's delinquency -- he didn't even confirm that the QB had overslept -- but he did say Mallett has not lost his grip on the team's No. 2 quarterback job.
"(The) situation with Ryan not being at practice (Thursday), that's between Ryan and I," O'Brien told reporters, via ProFootballTalk. "There are a lot things that I will explain to you and I realize that you have a job to do, I really do.
