Antonio Brown, Steelers moving toward extension

The Steelers weren't kidding about Antonio Brown.

Weeks after general manager Kevin Colbert insisted the franchise wanted the All-Pro receiver to "retire as a Steeler," Brown's camp and the team are making significant progress toward a lucrative extension, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

The goal is to complete a deal by the start of the new league year on March 9, Rapoport was told.

With one year still left on the six-year, $43.04 million contract he signed in 2012, Brown -- due $8.71 million next season -- is a strong candidate to become the richest receiver in the game.
