After becoming the first openly gay active player in the history of the NFL, Michael Sam's still has plenty of work left to do as he attempts to make the St. Louis Rams squad in training camp -- a journey which will be documented by the Oprah Winfrey Network:

In a statement transcribed by Nick Schwartz of USA TODAY Sports, Oprah Winfrey expressed hope that a documentary chronicling Sam's unique circumstances will end up as a positive influence on the American public:
