Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez hopes he did not sign the wrong twin brother after revealing he has tracked both Jacob and Josh Murphy since last summer.
Jacob will join the Magpies in a £12m deal from Norwich City on Wednesday, leaving behind Josh at Carrow Road.
But Benitez says he received detailed dossiers on both of the 22-year-old wingers during the entirety of last season, before deciding that Jacob was the man he wanted.
‘We were here in Ireland last year and we were talking about Jacob’s brother,’ said Benitez, who is also set to sign former Liverpool and Sunderland loanee Javier Manquillo.
