Jonas Gutierrez has previously made no secret of his affection for Newcastle — and the former St James' Park favourite didn't wait long to congratulate them on their Premier League promotion.
Gutierrez played a key role in helping Newcastle stay in the Premier League in 2015 after returning to the side in March of that year after twice beating testicular cancer.
The Magpies, however, were relegated the following season and forced to play the current campaign in the Championship.
But they secured an immediate return to the top-flight with a 4-1 win over Preston on Monday night and Gutierrez congratulated his former team.
