Yankees place Dustin Ackley on the disabled list with a separated shoulder; option Luis Severino to Triple-A

We have some injury updates for your thrilling, and somewhat cloudy Memorial Day. Dustin Ackley left yesterday's game after reaching base in the sixth inning. Diving back into the bag, he seemed to hurt his shoulder and was slow to get up. He was replaced by Mark Teixeira the following inning and went for tests after the game. As it turns out, Ackley separated his shoulder and will be placed on the disabled list. Teixeira, who has been dealing with a neck injury that required a cortisone shot in his neck, was forced to return to the field early.
