Teixeira won’t test balky leg, and nobody knows when he’ll be back

ATLANTA — Mark Teixeira has halted testing his injured right leg by running and Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he would be guessing if he tried to put a timetable on the first baseman’s return from a bone bruise below the knee that has developed inflammation.

“No testing it, we knew that it made it a little angry,’’ Teixeira said before Saturday’s 3-1 win over the Braves at Turner Field.

Teixeira didn’t start for a third straight game. He has started one game and pinch-hit in another since suffering the injury by fouling a ball off the leg on Aug.
