After falling to the Houston Astros in the Wild Card game on Tuesday, the New York Yankees’ offseason has officially begun. While it is clear that they need help in more than one position, starting pitching will likely be amongst the targets this winter. However, the Yankees are probably not going to fork over the money needed to acquire the services of the big-name pitchers (Zack Grienke, David Price, etc.). This is why the Yankees are reportedly interested with potential free agent Jeff Samardzija, who won’t cost nearly as much as the elite pitchers on the market.
