No support for CC; Yanks miss WC opportunity

TORONTO -- The Blue Jays widened their lead for the top spot in the American League Wild Card race as Jose Bautista's three-run home run in the eighth inning broke a scoreles tie in Toronto's 3-0 win over the Yankees on Saturday at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays will end the day with at least a 1 1/2-game edge, pending the Orioles' result against the D-backs in Baltimore. If the O's lose, Toronto will be up two games on Detroit -- which lost to the Royals earlier in the day -- for the top Wild Card spot with just over one week to play in the regular season.
