Dellin Betances blows it in 9th as Yankees lose crusher

CHICAGO — They are battered and bruised and the line to get into the trainer’s room requires a ticket.

Since Sunday the Yankees have lost center fielder Aaron Hicks and second baseman Starlin Castro to the disabled list and haven’t had DH Matt Holliday since Saturday.

And Tuesday night stud reliever Dellin Betances gave up a two-run, two-out bases-loaded single to Jose Abreu that gave the White Sox a 4-3 win over the Yankees in front of 18,023 at Guaranteed Rate Field.

After not using Betances in the eighth, likely because manager Joe Girardi wanted to avoid working him in three straight games, Betances took over for Tyler Clippard after he gave up a run in the eighth to shave the Yankees’ lead to 3-2.
