ARLINGTON, Texas — Hours after saying his strong comeback season has served as a reminder what playing without performance-enhancing drugs can do for a player’s psyche, Alex Rodriguez celebrated a milestone birthday in a very familiar fashion: hitting a home run.
“I am going to continue to work hard. I thought April was going to be my most challenging month,’’ said Rodriguez, who missed all of last year due to suspension in the Biogenesis mess. “I was hoping to get better and that happened. But it also is a nice reminder to me if you play clean and work hard that good things will happen.
