Reeling Yankees call up top bullpen prospect Jacob Lindgren

The Yankees have put Jacob Lindgren on the fast track since taking the lefty reliever with their first pick (in the second round) last June. Now, he will speed all the way to the majors, The Post has learned.

With Branden Pinder throwing 48 pitches in Texas’ 15-4 blowout win Saturday, the Yankees decided they needed a fresh arm for Sunday. And Lindgren has been throwing the best at Triple-A.

In 22 innings this year, Lindgren has 29 strikeouts, a 1.23 ERA and three saves. In 46 ²/u2083 professional innings, Lindgren has 77 strikeouts. He is unscored upon in his last seven outings, covering 11 ²/u2083 innings in which he has fanned 15.
