Another day, another set of Yankees rumors to weed through – let’s get down to business:
Stephen Drew
Per Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Yankees won't be too disappointed if they end up with Jose Pirela and Rob Refsnyder as their second base platoon...but they're keeping a close eye on Drew, who would improve that situation if he becomes a Yankee. Mike Puma of the NY Post reports that Drew wants “upwards of $7MM” in his upcoming deal.
Slade Heathcott
Joel Sherman of the NY Post broke the news that Heathcott will re-sign with the Yankees on a minor-league deal. Heathcott hasn't been able to overcome injury issues that have limited his development, but the Yankees are still hoping the former first-round pick comes good.
