New York Yankees Rumors: Johan Santana Making A Comeback, Yankees Interested

The New York Yankees have expressed interest in veteran left-hander Johan Santana before, and per a report, are interest in potentially faciliating a comeback for the two-time AL Cy Young Award winner.

Per Dan Martin of the New York Post, "the Yankees remain intrigued by the possibility of bringing in Santana and will “keep an eye on him,” according to a source."

Johan Santana’s comeback bid began on Tuesday night, when he pitched two scoreless innings in the Venezuelan Winter League. The Yankees were one of the teams in attendance.

It was Santana's first appearance since he tore an Achilles tendon in an extended Spring Training outing for the Baltimore Orioles last June. That marked just the latest in a series of setbacks for the 36-year-old Santana who has been hampered by injuries since finishing third in the NL Cy Young Award race for the New York Mets back in 2008.

The Yankees previously expressed interest in Santana during his rehab from a 2012 shoulder surgery, but nothing came to fruition.
