NY Yankees Rumors: Mark Teixeira could be ready to play by Spring Training

With NY Yankees rumors currently centering around the possible signing of Japanese star pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, the Yankees are receiving some possible good news about the health of players currently on their roster.

Along with Derek Jeter fielding grounders for his first work since his injury-stricken 2013 season, it looks as if star first baseman Mark Teixeira could be ready to play for the Yankees by Spring Training

Teixeira went on the record last week to talk about his surgically-repaired right wrist, saying that "it's going to keep getting looser, keep getting stronger. That's just the way surgery goes. That's just the way it is." Teixeira added, "I'm a little anxious about the way I'm going to feel, but I know that as long as I'm doing what I'm told, doing what I'm supposed to be doing, that I should be fine."

Mark Teixeira's season-ending wrist surgery limited him to just 15 games during the 2013 season. He batted just .151 in those contests with 3 homers and 12 RBI. Teixeira has not been truly healthy since the 2011 season, where he had 39 homers and 111 RBIs for the NY Yankees in 156 games.
