Group B is the first group to conclude at the 2017 Men's U-20 World Cup, largely because Group A has the home team - South Korea - in it, and so its kick-off times are optimized for a local audience.
As such, we'll know the fate of CONCACAF qualifier Mexico before we know anything about the Group A teams.
The Group B standings after two games:
Position | Team | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | Goals For | Goals Against | Goal Difference | Points |
1 | Venezuela | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 9 | 0 | +9 | 6 |
2 | Mexico | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 2 | +1 | 4 |
3 | Germany | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | -2 | 1 |
4 | Vanuatu | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 10 | -8 | 1 |
This Mexico-Venezuela match is effectively a playoff for top spot in the group.
