Sergey Zborovskiy signs entry-level deal with Rangers

The Rangers signed 19-year old defenseman Sergey Zborovskiy to an entry-level contract, general manager Jeff Gorton announced Tuesday.

The three-year, two-way deal reportedly is worth $2.775 million.

Zborovskiy, who is 6-4 and 200 pounds, played in 64 games with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League last season, scoring eight goals and adding 17 assists. He had two power play goals.

Zborovskiy has appeared in 135 WHL games over two seasons and has scored a total of 44 points. He was the Rangers’ third-round pick in 2015.
