The San Jose Sharks have been a strong contender in the Western Conference since they first joined the NHL in 1990.
The Sharks have made appearances in the playoffs in 19 out of the 26 years they have been in existence. They have claimed six division titles (compared to the Rangers seven in the last 90 seasons) and went on to become conference champions in the 2015-16 season (a feat the Rangers have achieved twice).
The only thing is that San Jose does not have is a Stanley Cup title.
Despite this, the team has played strong hockey in their past regular season games.
