New York Rangers Name Drury Assistant GM, fire AHL Head Coach

On Tuesday morning, the New York Rangers decided to dig the management of their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, up at the roots.

OFFICIAL: Ken Gernander has been relieved of Head Coaching duties with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

This news is huge for the future of the New York Rangers youth.

Ken Gernander had been with the Rangers organization since 05-06, when he was an assistant with the Wolf Pack. He was promoted to head coach of Hartford in 07-08 and made it to the playoffs in four of his first five seasons on the job.
