The New York Rangers’ fan base let out a collective sigh of relief Tuesday morning when the team announced they had re-signed center Mika Zibanejad to a five-year deal.
It appeared that the two sides would be going to arbitration this morning when there was still nothing agreed upon at 10:00 a.m. Most spectators believed that the two sides would eventually come to a contractual agreement at some point before it was left in the hands of the arbitrator, but it was a close call.
But now the Rangers have their presumed top-line center under contract for the next five years at a $5.
