The NHL has scheduled a disciplinary hearing Friday with David Pastrnak, the Bruins forward who decked Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi with a hit to the face in the second period on Wednesday.
The league’s Department of Player Safety announced the hearing for what it termed “charging/illegal check to the head,” which occurred when Girardi was reaching with his glove for a high puck near the blue line at 10:55 of the second period.
The hearing will determine whether supplemental discipline — a suspension — is appropriate.
Girardi dropped to the ice, was dazed and went to the dressing room to undergo concussion protocol.
