Canadiens backup goalie Mike Condon enjoys the ride

Mike Condon interviewed for an internship on Wall Street after his junior year at Princeton University, and on Wednesday night he made 11 saves against the Rangers.

No, he didn’t get the internship.

Condon, 25, posted a 7-2-2 record as the Montreal Canadiens’ backup goaltender last month while starter Carey Price was sidelined with a lower-body injury. Then in Wednesday’s 5-1 win over the Rangers, Condon replaced Price after a reported right leg injury for the starter, closing up shop for the visitors.

“I used to take Amtrak through Penn Station all the time, right below us,” Condon said Wednesday morning.
