TAMPA — The reward for the work of Glen Sather is seen on the ice, but a little personal recognition won’t be turned away.
The Rangers general manager was named as finalist for GM of the Year on Friday, just before his team’s 5-1 win over the Lightning in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final.
The Lightning had one of the other finalists in Steve Yzerman, and the third was Bob Murray of the Ducks, who are battling the Blackhawks in the Western Conference final.
No surprise the three best general managers are among the four teams still playing.
