Travis d’Arnaud is solely resting, which complicates return date

Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud went on the disabled list with a rotator cuff strain eight days ago and he hasn’t started throwing yet. He is simply resting, not doing anything strenuous, manager Terry Collins said Tuesday, adding he “can’t predict” when d’Arnaud will return.

“He is not doing anything but resting still right now,” Collins said. “He’s getting the treatments he’s supposed to get but he’s not throwing.

“A lot of times you come in the morning, and if he’s feeling good a couple days in a row, they might start getting him on a throwing program.
