Jose Reyes, who has had an illustrious career especially with New York, was able to become not only the 39th player in league history to steal 500 bases but the second active player to do so.
Last night, the Mets led 4-1 in the eighth inning, and Jose Reyes continued to do what he had done his entire career, make the unthinkable happen on the base paths. Reyes beat out a single, stole second, and scored on a two-out single from Travis d’Arnaud.
