NEW YORK -- Daniel Murphy left Wednesday's 9-4 Mets win against the Phillies after three innings with discomfort in his left quad and was taken out as a precaution.
Murphy, who hit a run-scoring double and scored in the third inning, already missed time this year when he landed on the disabled list from June 5-30 with a strained left quad.
Murphy has been the Mets' primary first baseman with Lucas Duda on the DL and is tied for the Major League lead with 11 doubles in August.
