Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia plans to appeal the permanent suspension he received on Friday for testing positive for steroids a third time.
“I’m going to appeal. Lose or win, I have great faith. I have to clear my name,” Mejia told reporter Hector Gomez. “I will take this case to the ultimate consequences. It is not like they say. I am sure that I did not use anything.”
Although Mejia said he plans to appeal, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York says that there is no way for him to do so at this time.
