Each time Mets pitcher Jenrry Mejia has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, he has declined to discuss the results or has maintained his innocence. Even after his third failed test in less than a year, which was announced Friday and which resulted in a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball, Mejia appears to be sticking to the message that he has not used P.E.D.s.
Peter Greenberg, Mejia’s agent, indicated on Saturday that Mejia would not make an official statement. But on Friday, Héctor Gómez, who described himself on his Twitter page as the sports editor at Z101, a radio station in the Dominican Republic, posted on Twitter a few quotations he attributed to Mejia.
