Prior to Tuesday night’s game in San Diego, Mets manager Terry Collins spoke to the media about right-hander Jeurys Familia. According to TC, Familia will begin throwing off of a mound soon. He expects the Mets to have their closer back at some capacity before the season ends.
Familia has been out most of the season – appearing in only 11 games all year – for a couple of reasons. He missed the first 15 games of the year serving a suspension for violating MLB Domestic Violence Policy.
After coming back and appearing in a few games, Familia would go on the disabled list when doctors diagnosed him with an arterial blood clot in his right shoulder.
