The Mets are among 12 teams this winter in the market for relief pitching, ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick tweeted this past weekend (Nov. 30, 2015).
According to Crasnick, the market for relievers is being held up by teams first exploring trades for closers Aroldis Chapman and Mark Melancon, and waiting to see where free-agent Darren O'Day inks a new deal.
The Mets expect Rafael Montero's shoulder to be 100 percent next spring, and Josh Smoker, Erik Goeddel, Logan Verrett, and others will be considered for the Opening Day bullpen.
