Lagares tested oblique, thinks he'll be good to go for Opening Day

Juan Lagares tested his strained left oblique on Wednesday by running and said he should be "good to go" for Opening Day on April 3, reports Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Lagares, who plans to hit on Thursday, left Saturday's game due to the injury.

The results of Lagares' MRI were better than the Mets hoped, manager Terry Collins told reporters on Tuesday.

Lagares is hitting .190 with one home run and two RBI in 42 at-bats this spring, and had been expected to make the Opening Day roster as the team's fourth outfielder.
