Bartolo Colon will start Saturday's game against the Rockies on three-days rest, Mets manager Terry Collins said after Tuesday's doubleheader.
Colon was pulled at just 87 pitches on Tuesday after throwing seven scoreless innings against the Cardinals.
Due to Tuesday's doubleheader, the Mets would've had to either use Seth Lugo or call up a pitcher from Triple-A Las Vegas -- likely Gabriel Ynoa -- for Saturday's game if they hadn't turned to Colon.
