One of the more enticing storylines of the summer of 2016 revolves around Liga ACB standout Willy Hernangomez. The New York Knicks have an opportunity to bring Hernangomez to to the NBA in 2016-17, and signs are pointing towards Phil Jackson intending to do so.
Hernangomez doesn’t appear to be alone in his attempts to convince New York to grant him an earned opportunity to play in the NBA.
Hernangomez, 21, was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 35 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. Shortly thereafter, New York sent two future second-round selections and cash considerations to pry Hernangomez loose from its division rival.
