Report: Lamar Odom waived by Knicks, NBA career over?

Lamar Odom's fall from grace as an NBA player might be fully complete. The New York Knicks waived the 34-year-old forward on Friday, citing his inability to live up to the inherent expectations of a player in the league.

Here Ken Berger of CBS Sports with Knicks president Phil Jackson's assessment of the matter:

According to AP writer Brian Mahoney, this could spell the end of Odom's career in the NBA:

Odom was arrested last August on charges of driving under the influence. He pleaded no contest to the charges, accepting a sentence of three years probation and three months of treatment for alcohol abuse.

The Knicks signed him in April in hopes that things were starting to look up for him after a stint playing professional ball in Spain. However, things didn't pan out.

While it is unknown at this time what the exact reason for Odom's dismissal was, his off-court antics regarding his stalled divorce with Khloe Kardashian and repeated reports of his lack of focus on the court could mean the end of what was once a promising NBA career.
