New York Knicks Rumors: Knicks in discussions with Josh Childress

Once upon a time, Josh Childress was a very solid role player in the NBA, averaging 10-plus points per game with the Hawks each of his first four years in the league. Then Childress went to Phoenix and sort of dropped off the face of the earth. Now, he's in discussions with the Knicks to sign as a small forward for the league-minimum.

If he can regain some of his early-career form, Childress would be a nice contributor off the bench who can come in and provide a small scoring spark and be a solid defender, something the Knicks could really use. He's nothing special from behind the arc, shooting 33 percent from three point range in his career, but that's still a better number than many on the current Knicks roster.
