New York Knicks Rumors: Gary Forbes Set To Work Out Next Week

At present, the New York Knicks have a total of 14 players on their roster, and 12 have guaranteed contracts for the upcoming season. The team has room for one more player on their preseason roster, and they're known to be in the hunt for a big man or a small forward. The team has worked out a number of veterans this summer, and there are rumors that Gary Forbes is the next in line.

Forbes has played all over the globe, but he's only spent two years of his career in the NBA. His NBA experience came with the Denver Nuggets in 2010-11 and the Toronto Raptors in 2011-12, making him an ex-teammate of five Knicks players. Forbes is a 28-year-old small forward who was born in Panama but raised in Brooklyn. Forbes shoots 34% from behind the arc, and with the departure of Steve Novak, the Knicks would benefit from having another player who can knock down threes.

Forbes is currently working out with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he'll shortly make the cross-country trip to work out for the Knicks. While signing a big man would add valuable depth to the Knicks' front line, Forbes would add another dimension to their second unit.
