Knicks Rumors: Steve Kerr 'Expects' To Be Offered Knicks Job, Would Accept

There definitely won't be a shortage of Knicks Rumors this summer - Phil Jackson has his work cut out for him as he tries to rebuild an ineffective squad that failed to make the playoffs in the weakest Eastern Conference in decades.

Today's rumor comes to you from The New York Post, who allege that former player/GM and current TNT broadcaster Steve Kerr "absolutely expects" to be offered the Knicks job...and that he'd accept.

"If he’s offered the job, he’s definitely going to do it,” a source told the Post.

Kerr, 48, is a five-time NBA champion who played for seven teams over a 15-year career. He served as president and GM of the Phoenix Suns from 2007 to 2010, but has never coached college or NBA basketball.

Current Knicks coach Charles Woodson is not expected to return after the team went 37-45 despite the NBA's second-highest payroll. Woodson blamed himself for the team's failures in 2013-14, but contrition is unlikely to persuade Phil Jackson to keep him on for one more year.

If Woodson is let go as expected, the Knicks could target Kerr or pursue Golden State's Mark Jackson, who may not be retained if the Warriors don't make it past the first round of the playoffs.
