Knicks Rumors Roundup: Latest on potential Carmelo Anthony, James Harden trade

In today's Knicks rumors roundup, rumors are intensifying surrounding a potential sign-and-trade of New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony to the Houston Rockets for James Harden.

According to ESPN's Chris Broussard (via information obtained from Charles Curtis of NJ.com), the Houston Rockets could be looking to increase their chances at either Anthony or Heat superstar LeBron James by dangling Harden in a potential blockbuster deal:

"Assuming the Rockets obtain the cap room to sign James or Anthony, the next step would be to give up star guard James Harden in a sign-and-trade for whichever superstar (James or Anthony) they don't sign as a free agent," Broussard wrote in an article on Wednesday. "Faced with the prospect of losing their superstars, both New York and Miami would be open to accepting Harden in a sign-and-trade."

With Harden's 25.4 points per game scoring average in 2013-14, a Harden-for-Anthony swap could be a huge step for a Knicks team in danger of losing Melo for nothing at all.
